Terms and conditions

The terms governing use of the ShieldMatch UK quotation and introduction platform.

1. Our role

ShieldMatch UK is an independent security quotation and introduction platform. We are not a security company, we do not supply security officers and we do not install, hire out, monitor or maintain security equipment. We are not automatically an SIA Approved Contractor. Where a provider states approval, this should be independently verified through the official SIA Approved Contractor Scheme register.

2. The service contract

The selected security company contracts directly with the client and invoices the client directly. ShieldMatch UK is not a party to the supply of security services.

3. Provider responsibilities

The selected security company is solely responsible for employing and paying officers, verifying individual SIA licences, insurance, risk assessments, assignment instructions, uniforms, supervision, replacements, service delivery, incident management and legal and regulatory compliance.

4. Quotations

A quotation is valid until the validity date shown on it. We do not guarantee that any enquiry will result in a quotation, nor that multiple quotations will be produced.

5. Provider fees and non-circumvention

ShieldMatch UK may receive a fee from participating security providers. Any such arrangement is between ShieldMatch UK and the provider, is recorded in the provider’s partner agreement, and does not form part of the price quoted to the client. Repeat bookings between an introduced client and provider during the agreed protection period are recorded and the agreed partner terms apply.

6. Acceptable use

You must not attempt to obtain client or provider details outside the platform’s authorised release process, misuse messaging to exchange direct contact details before release, or submit false information.

7. Electronic acknowledgement

Agreements accepted on the platform are recorded as electronic acknowledgements using a typed name, date, checkbox and audit record. This is not a qualified electronic signature unless an external signature provider has been connected.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, ShieldMatch UK is not liable for the acts, omissions or service quality of any security provider.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
